1.  Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
BOSIET - 5700: OPITO-approved BOSIET certificate
 Course duration: 3 days
This OPITO APPROVED course is designed for new entrants to the offshore oil and gas industry worldwide. All workers must complete this training before traveling offshore. The course consists of four modules:

·         Safety Induction

·         Sea Survival (including Medical First Aid)

·         Fire Fighting & Self-Rescue and

·         Helicopter Safety And Escape using EBS

This will give the personnel, a basic understanding and awareness of the hazards encountered when travelling to offshore installations and the emergency procedures involved following an offshore incident.

Note that the BOSIET certificate is valid for four years and prior to the expiry of the BOSIET certificate, the one-day Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) course must be undertaken to maintain the currency of the qualification.

 

2.  T-BOSIET (Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training)

T-BOSIET - 5501: OPITO-approved T-BOSIET certificate

 Course duration: 3 days

The aim of the T-BOSIET is the same as of BOSIET i.e to equip the delegates with basic emergency response knowledge and skills for traveling to and from offshore installations by helicopter specifically in a tropical environment. (No EBS)

3.  Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET)

FOET - 5858: OPITO-approved FOET certificate
 Course duration: 1 day

This OPITO APPROVED course is refresher training for holders of an in-date BOSIET or FOET certificate. The certificate is valid for four years from the date of issue. Prior to the expiry of this certificate, this course must be undertaken again to maintain the currency of the qualification. The course complements and refreshes existing emergency training and updates the knowledge gained on the BOSIET course with regard to HUET, survival techniques, hand-held firefighting equipment, and self-rescue techniques using smoke hoods and emergency first aid.

 

4.  T-FOET (Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training)

T-FOET – 5614: OPITO-approved T- FOET certificate
 Course duration: 1 day

The aim of the T-FOET is to provide the delegates with the opportunity to practice and demonstrate emergency response skills which are not possible to practice during drills, exercises and emergency training offshore for workers in a Tropical Environment. (No EBS)

 

5.  Helicopter Underwater Escape Training- (HUET with EBS)

HUET - 5095: OPITO-approved HUET with EBS certificate
Course duration: 1 day

This OPITO APPROVED course is an integral part of basic offshore emergency training for everyone working offshore in the Oil and Gas sector. The course provides theory and practical training in the use of emergency breathing system (EBS) equipment (also referred to as ‘re-breather’ equipment) and is combined with Helicopter Underwater Escape Training. The certificate is valid for four years, after which this course must be undertaken again to maintain the validity of the training.

6.  T-HUET (Tropical Helicopter Underwater Escape Training)

T-HUET - 5195: OPITO-approved T-HUET certificate
       Course duration: 1 day

The aim of the Tropical HUET training program is the same as in HUET, to prepare delegates that intend to travel to and from offshore oil and gas installations and vessels by helicopter in a tropical environment by providing specific training in pre-flight and in-flight requirements and to equip delegates with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills required in the event of a helicopter emergency – with a specific focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching and sea survival techniques.(No EBS)

 

7.  Travel Safely by Boat – Initial Training

TSbB (I) – 5605: OPITO-approved TsbB Initial training certificate
Course duration: 2 Hrs 30 Mins.

This OPITO APPROVED course is designed to ensure that all personnel traveling/transferring by boat to work in offshore areas achieve the safety and emergency response skills on how to act in an emergency and also to increase their personal commitment to safety with Effective use of personal safety equipment.

8.  Travel Safely by Boat – Further Training

TSbB(F) – 5615 : OPITO-approved TSbB Further training certificate
Course duration: 1 Hr 30 Mins.

This OPITO APPROVED course is to refresh the safety and emergency response skills of personnel who have previously successfully completed their TSbB Initial Training.

OPITO launched the online learning method for the theory elements of the Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) suite in 2017. The digital delivery option has been developed to provide an alternative method of learning the theory elements of the training without any changes to the technical content.

 PISTA hopes to be the catalyst in bringing the Regional workforce up to the Minimum international standards which the ever-changing Offshore Oil & Gas Industry demands
